So, So, Sochi, Russia

So, so, Sochi, was so, so. This Russian city on the Black Sea is to host the 2014 Olympics. It did not help that this was the first day since we boarded that was really cold and damp. We had to tender to shore over choppy seas to board a slightly funky tour bus. We visited some sites that would have been lovely if the sun had graced us. As it was, we walked too long around some not very interesting places then hurried back to the bus. With the dreary weather and the very heavy classical architecture, the place felt very ominous and seemed to me to still hold the ghosts of the Communist regime.
